Who Pays For Sober Living?

The Forest was created to provide safe passage for those who have completed inpatient or outpatient treatment and are preparing to return home to independent living. The Forest is a welcoming home-like setting that offers a built-in support system, accountability measures, and a drug and alcohol free setting to begin adjusting to your new substance free life and lifestyle. The staff and other residents welcome you to The Forest, and you are able to stay in this transitional setting as long as you choose to ensure you are mentally ready to take the next step in your recovery process and return to your home and fully independent living. While this concept is one that sounds perfect for many who are on the path of their recovery, the most common first questions relate to how this facility is paid for and who makes the payments.

Does Insurance Cover The Cost Of The Forest?

Many people early in their journey to recovery find a sober living facility like The Forest very helpful in creating the good habits and support system that will help them continue their progress to a fully independent life of happiness without addiction. However, most insurance plans do not cover sober living facilities or the costs associated with them. The insurance plans are only required by law to pay for facilities that include formal addiction services and treatment, like those found in a rehab facility. If you are receiving Medicare, you will find that the services they pay for are very similar to the average insurance plan and do not pay the cost of a sober living facility for much the same reasons.
